About this tool
This unit price calculator compares two or three products by breaking each one down to its true price per unit, so you can see which package is genuinely the better deal. Enter the price and the size or quantity of each item — grams, litres, sheets or count — and it divides one by the other and highlights the cheapest per unit. It is built for grocery aisles and online shopping, and it all runs in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
How is the price per unit worked out?
The tool divides each item's price by its size or quantity, giving the cost of a single unit such as one gram, one millilitre or one sheet. Because every option is reduced to the same per-unit basis, a 750 gram pack at 3.00 (0.40 per 100 g) and a 1 kg pack at 3.60 (0.36 per 100 g) can be compared directly, and the lower figure is the better buy.
Can I compare items labelled in different units, like grams and kilograms?
Keep the unit consistent within a single comparison for a fair result. If one product is labelled in grams and another in kilograms, convert them to the same unit first — for example treat 1 kg as 1000 g — and then enter the matching numbers. The calculator compares exactly the values you give it, so the answer is only as reliable as the units you line up.
Is anything I enter sent to a server?
No. The prices and sizes you type are compared locally in your browser and are never uploaded to or stored on any server. That means you can check deals right in the shop on your phone, even on a weak signal, and none of the figures you enter are tracked or saved anywhere.
