How does it convert between hourly and annual pay?
It multiplies up through your schedule. Annual pay equals the hourly rate times the hours you work per week times the weeks you work per year, so 25 per hour at 40 hours over 52 weeks is 52,000 a year. Monthly is the annual figure divided by 12, weekly is annual divided by your working weeks, and a daily rate uses your hours per day. Change the hours or weeks and every period updates together.
Is this before or after tax?
It shows gross pay — the amount before income tax, social security, pension or any other deductions. Your actual take-home pay will be lower, and by how much depends on where you live, your allowances and your benefits.
