PNG or JPG — which should I pick?
Choose PNG for pages with text, lines or screenshots — it stays crisp with no compression artefacts. Choose JPG for photo-heavy pages where a smaller file matters; it uses lossy compression with an adjustable quality. A higher resolution gives sharper images but larger files, so match it to where you will use the image.
Does the text stay selectable in the images?
No. Rendering turns each page into a flat picture, so the text becomes pixels and is no longer selectable or searchable. If you need the words rather than an image, use a PDF text-extractor instead. Page-to-image is for when you want a visual you can post or embed.
Is the PDF uploaded to render it?
No. The pages are drawn by the pdf.js engine running inside your browser, so the document is processed on your own device and never sent to a server. You can render and download the images even with the network disconnected once the page has loaded.
