Frequently asked questions
Can I crop to a fixed shape like a square or 16:9?
Yes. Lock the crop box to a preset ratio such as 1:1 for avatars or 16:9 for thumbnails, and the selection keeps that shape as you resize it. Leave it free to crop to any custom dimensions.
Will cropping or rotating reduce image quality?
Cropping simply removes pixels outside the selection, so the part you keep stays at full quality. Rotating by 90, 180 or 270 degrees is also lossless; only the file format you save to (such as JPEG) applies its usual compression.
Is my image uploaded to edit it?
No. Cropping, rotating and flipping all happen in your browser on a canvas, so your image never leaves your device and is not sent to any server.
