About this tool

Six clicks per second is a solid average — can you beat it? Choose a duration, hammer the button as fast as you can, and this CPS test counts every click, then reports your total, your clicks per second and your best score of the session. It is a favourite warm-up among Minecraft PvP and rhythm-game players, and a quick way to compare mice or clicking techniques such as jitter and butterfly clicking. The counting happens entirely locally in your browser, with no sign-up and nothing sent to a server.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good CPS score?

Most people clicking normally land around 6-8 CPS. Jitter clicking — tensing the forearm so the finger vibrates — typically reaches 10-14 CPS, and butterfly clicking with two alternating fingers can go higher still. Drag clicking produces extreme numbers but relies on friction against the mouse shell and is banned on some game servers. Anything above 8 CPS sustained over ten seconds already puts you ahead of the average player.

What affects my score besides finger speed?

Hardware and software both matter. A mouse polling at 125 Hz can miss extremely fast clicks that a 1000 Hz gaming mouse registers, and some mice apply debounce delays that swallow rapid double-clicks. Browser event handling, busy background tabs and a heavily loaded CPU can shave off a few clicks too, and a touchpad is almost always slower than a dedicated mouse. For a fair comparison, retest with the same device and browser each time.

Are my results uploaded or ranked online?

No. Every click is counted locally in your browser, and your session best lives only in the memory of this page — nothing is sent to a server, and there is no account or public leaderboard. When you close or reload the tab, the scores are gone. If you want to track your progress over time, simply note down your best CPS after each session and compare on the same setup.
