Chord Finder looks up any chord by name β major, minor, seventh, sus, diminished and more β lays its notes out on a piano keyboard, and plays them back so you can hear the voicing. It is a fast reference for songwriting, arranging or studying theory, with the audio generated on the fly in your browser. Pick a root and a chord type to see exactly which notes it contains.

What notes are in a chord?
The tool spells out every note for the chord you choose and highlights it on the piano β so a C major shows C, E and G. You can also play it back, so the shape on the keyboard and the sound in your ear line up.
Does it play the chord out loud?
Yes β the notes are synthesised live with the Web Audio API in your browser, so you can hear any chord without recording anything or loading audio files.
Does it work for guitar as well as piano?
The note spelling is the same for every instrument: pianists can read it straight off the keyboard, and guitarists can map those notes onto the fretboard or pair it with the guitar chord chart for fingerings.
