About this tool
Need to know how many working days fall between two dates, or what date lands ten business days from now? This tool counts the weekdays — Monday to Friday — between a start and end date, and can also add or subtract a number of business days from a date. Paste in a list of public holidays and it skips those too. Everything is worked out in your browser, so the dates you enter never leave your device.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a business day?
A business day is any weekday from Monday to Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are always left out, and so is every date you add to the holiday list, so the result reflects genuine working days. This applies whether you are measuring the span between two dates or adding business days to a single date.
Can I exclude public holidays?
Yes. Add the dates you want to skip — usually your country's public holidays — as a list, and any of them that fall on a weekday are removed from the total. Holidays differ from one country and region to the next, so the tool does not assume any; you choose exactly which days to exclude, which keeps the count correct wherever you are.
Are my dates kept private?
Yes. The whole calculation runs locally in your browser using JavaScript, so the start and end dates and the holiday list you enter stay on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to or stored on a server, which means you can rely on it for sensitive scheduling and it keeps working even when you are offline.
